Fire Safety & Awareness
This certified course is designed to emphasize the importance of all occupants of buildings understanding the dangers of fire / smoke, to inform trainees of smoke alarms, how to use them and learn the components of an Evacuation Scheme. Also to understand the Evacuation Scheme and its relevance to occupants. This course will prepare occupants to perform calmly in the event of an emergency occurring. Attendees are trained to a high standard of learning with both instructor and peer assessments throughout the course.
Specific topics covered include:
- How smoke alarms operate
- The chain of command during an emergency
- The responsibilities and duties of wardens
- The importance of housekeeping / hazard reduction
- The dangers of fire and smoke
- The basics of an Evacuation Scheme
- How to conduct themselves during an emergency
- How to prepare themselves for an emergency
