Because First Aid skills are the great life skills to have for anyone who are willing to helping your friends, family and community in an emergency situation. It is also required for companies to have some certified First Aider at their workplace. Remember, First Aid can save a life!
The forms of assessment will vary throughout your course. They may include questions from your instructor, teach-back (e.g. explaining what you have learnt), practical work (e.g. performing CPR on a manikin), written assessments (e.g. worksheets) and scenario assessments (e.g. managing a role-played simulated emergency situation).
On completion of each task, you will be told whether you have met the assessment requirements. If you have not yet met the requirements, you will be provided with the opportunity to be reassessed.
Yes, absolutely! Our First Aid course consists of 4 hour self-learning and 8 hour class time, which are the requirements for the unit standards. Students must send us the worksheet online or by email or you could bring a hard copy to the class. Having done 4 hours self-learning prior to the class will help your understanding of the course contents effectively.
Yes, we do recommend all students to bring their own lunch as some of our venues are not located close to any lunch bars or cafes. We offer complementary coffee/tea in the class.
Depending on how late you are, you could be refused to join the class since you may already miss some topics in order to get a certificate. However, we will reschedule your class so please contact us. You must plan well in advance to be able to arrive at the venue in time.
No. We are unable to issue a certificate if you dont complete all topics of the course. Please make sure in advance that you can attend the class fully on the day. An extra charge may occur if we have to organise your extra session for the topics you missed.
You can pay by credit card when booking online. In some cases, payment on the day may be accepted by prior arrangement. If your company is paying and has an account with us, alternative payment terms may apply.
For more information, please click on our Terms and Conditions.
First aid recertification (or refresher) training is required every two years to maintain your certificate.
To be eligible for recertification training, you must hold a valid first aid certificate that is no older than 2 years and 3 months. Your recertification training can only revalidate your existing certificate.
To attend workplace or childcare first aid recertification training your previous certificate must show that your previous course was assessed against NZQA unit standards 6402, 6401 and 6400.
To attend basic first aid recertification training your previous certificate must show that your previous course was assessed against NZQA unit standards 6401 and 6402.
If your certificate is not renewed within three calendar months from the second anniversary date of issue, you will have to complete full first aid training. This means that, in order to obtain a recertification certificate, you must complete all parts of your recertification training within 2 years and 3 months of the date of your previous certificate. This includes completing your first aid course and handing in your completed Student Learning Pack Worksheet.
If you have not done your previous training with us, we need a copy your previous certificate for verification before, or on, the course date. Please provide your previous certificate at the time of booking or some other time before your first aid course if possible as this will make the course day less complicated for you and us. You can email us a copy or a photo of it.
We typically issue the e-certificate within 10 days after the course and send it to your email address or your employer s email address if booked through your company. If you need a hard copy, please let us know and we will send it to you by mail. Please note that the certificate will not be issued if your payment is not confirmed.
Please contact us by phone or email as soon as possible. We are happy to reschedule your booking or you may get a refund depending how early you inform us. Please see our terms and conditions for more information.
