This 4-hour course will prepare you with a comprehensive understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and the skills needed to apply these principles in the workplace.

This course will guide you through your health and safety responsibilities, including an overview on what equates to taking all practicable steps to ensure the safety of workers, providing the correct personal protective clothing and equipment and managing risks, as well as providing supervision and appropriate health and safety training.

Gain a comprehensive understanding of the principal systems including, but not limited to, emergency procedures, worker participation and engagement and hazard reporting.

Demonstrate knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements (NZQA unit standard 497):

• Identify and describe legislative rights and responsibilities for workplace health and safety

• Identify the principles of workplace safety in a given workplace
