Comprehensive Childcare First Aid
For early childhood teachers and workers. Meets the first aid requirements of the ECE licensing criteria.
Comprehensive Childcare First Aid is designed for early childhood teachers, home-based educators, nannies and support staff who care for babies and young children. It meets the first aid requirements of the ECE licensing criteria, making it the right choice for licensed early childhood services.
The course covers the full comprehensive syllabus with a childcare focus, including infant and child CPR, choking, febrile convulsions, allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, asthma, bleeding, burns and the everyday bumps and illnesses that happen around young children.
Training is blended, so you complete the theory through online self-study before spending 8 hours in class working through practical, scenario-based learning with infant and child manikins.
Assessment against NZQA unit standards 6400, 6401 and 6402 takes place during the course. Successful participants receive a certificate that is valid for two years, supporting licensing and ratio requirements for early learning services.
