Comprehensive Workplace First Aid
Recommended for most workplaces. Covers CPR, choking, bleeding, shock, a wide range of injuries and illnesses, and managing multiple casualties.
Comprehensive Workplace First Aid is our most popular course and the one we recommend for most New Zealand workplaces. It is designed for designated workplace first aiders, health and safety representatives, team leaders and anyone whose role calls for a thorough level of first aid capability.
The course covers CPR and the use of an AED, choking, severe bleeding, shock and the recognition and management of a wide range of injuries and illnesses, including fractures, burns, head injuries, asthma, allergic reactions and cardiac events. You will also learn how to assess a scene safely and manage incidents involving multiple casualties.
Training is delivered in a blended format. You complete the theory through online self-study at your own pace before attending 8 hours of practical, hands-on learning in class, so classroom time is spent on realistic scenarios and skill practice rather than slides.
Assessment is ongoing through the day, using practical demonstrations and short written checks aligned to NZQA unit standards 6400, 6401 and 6402. On successful completion you receive a certificate that is valid for two years, and we will remind you when it is time to renew.
