First Aid Refresher

The First Aid Refresher is for anyone who holds a current first aid certificate that is due for renewal. You can recertify with MediTrain regardless of which provider issued your original certificate, so switching to us is simple.
The course revisits the essential life-saving skills, including CPR and AED use, choking, bleeding control, shock and the management of common injuries and illnesses, and brings you up to date with any changes to best practice guidelines.
Delivery is blended. You refresh the theory through online self-study before attending 4.5 hours of practical training in class, which keeps the session short, focused and hands-on.
Your skills are assessed through practical participation on the day. On successful completion you receive a new certificate that is valid for two years, keeping you compliant and ready to respond when it matters.

NZQA Credits
This refresher renews your existing first aid certification. NZQA unit standards are not re-credited on renewal, but your new certificate is recognised by employers throughout New Zealand and is valid for two years.
Course requirements
Students are required to:
- hold a current or recently expired first aid certificate from any provider.
- be able to read and understand English – there are practical, written and verbal assessments in this course.
- be able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR.
- be 14 years or older.
